SO:

Jamie Stewart went on a solo tour earlier this spring, and David Horvitz went with him doing the usual photography project. I participated, and upon receiving my roll of film i decided that i would re-interpret every photograph on the roll before the summer was out. Although it took longer than i had hoped, i have finished the project, which can be viewed here: [link]

AND as an added bonus, David Horvitz posted a link on the Xiu Xiu site! [link] (september 22)

WOW they are so nice. I am ready for the upcoming spring tour.

I hope youre all doing well. I just wanted to post something new and exciting. : D

have a nice day

Hello everyone,

I have a favor to ask. I am trying to learn sound editing for my intro to film and video class at UTA and i was wondering if anyways would be interested in sending me some voice clips. I wont be using these in any projects anytime soon, im mostly just playing around to get to know how things work, etc. Recording my own voice gets super old and doesnt add much diversity... Anyways, if you would like to, anything from a single phrase to a couple sentences would be nice. I'll give you my email if youre interested. Actually, if anyone has some website or something that i can find voice clips (not necessarily music, i gots plenty of that, but also because its a different story) that would be great too.

school is going well, im just really busy but i get on here every now and then. homework and school duties keep me away, but oh well.

i hope everyone is doing well! have a good day.

Circling Around

Big news calls for updates.

-I have moved
-I start school at UTA on august 24
-I might have a job as a cartoonist!

Currently i do not have a computer and so i am writing this from a public library computer. Im planning on buying a 13" macbook pro this saturday. i have little experience with macs so if anyone has any advice whatsoever, feel free to tell me!

Im preeeetty excited about school, since 28 of my high school credits transferred and im almost a sophomore! although im more excited about meeting new people and seeing what life is like outside of my very narrow experience.

As far as my job situation, i have little experience with cartooning, other than the occasional character doodlings i used to do as a kid. i think im pretty capable of it (because the job description isnt very demanding) but if anyone has any sort of reference materials, instruction books, comedic preferences or any other suggestions even mildly related to cartooning, dont hesitate to offer them.

I hope everyone has been doing well, im sorry i havent been very active lately. Ive been busy with leaving my hometown and getting ready for school. as soon as i get to my permanent school residence with my laptop and internet source, i will be on here as regularly as my schedule allows.

have a nice day!

So.
It happens to be my 18th Birthday.

I didnt realize until yesterday that it was my last day of being a kid, as today I am legally an adult. Isnt that sad? I feel totally different today. Not entirely bad. Just hopeful that this age doesnt suck.

Anyways, I discovered the magic of lottery tickets. Theyre pretty awesome.

I will be buying something from an infomercial soon. I am now "18 or older to call"!

Oh, and by the way, a swine flu outbreak during your birthday really sucks. They shut down school for like a week, but that means that graduation is postponed and we might be going to school in June. I am so ready for this to all be over.

Besides it being my birthday, I havent really been very active on here lately because one of my friends left and im really sad about it. Im lucky to have so many other friends on here, but he was one of the reasons why DA was a really great community for me.

I recently watched Garden State (not bad) and Jin-Roh (pretty awesome) and I just got an iTunes card, so I will be buying some music very soon. If you have anything to suggest please do so, because otherwise I am just going to buy a crapload of Xiu Xiu.

I hope everyone is well! Please send me a message or drop me a note if you would like.

You will not guess who returned my email.

Jamie Stewart. Jamie Stewart returned my email.

woooooooooooooooow i am so happy i cant even describe it.

on top of this:
i am buying a sculpture from :iconbaronmofo:
i am selling a print to :iconrededsky:
please check out both of these people. they are selling their work and they really deserve to be rewarded for their efforts.

David Horvitz is an amazing artist, please check out his tumblr (davidhorvitz.tumblr) and his regular website (davidhorvitz.com). He has really inspired me to do more interactive art and things that are socially-oriented. I am working on some photographic things that i hope will pan out.

i would like to encourage anyone that comes in contact with this page or myself to try to be a stepping stone in developing art. i would like to be more involved in any kind of artistic community or movement. i dont think im really working hard enough to contribute as a person or as an artist. this doesnt have to be something long and drawn out, it can just be a conversation or a correspondance of pictures or something that makes me realize you are a human being.

im really having a hard time finding meaning in everything, and i think part of the problem is that im looking for meaning in everything. i dont want to be the kind of person who is so absorbed in myself that tries to relate everything back to my own cognition and experience. if you can in some way pull my attention to the external world, that would be ideal. i am always thinking about how i feel about what is happening and i am really tired of it.

i hope no one finds this pretentious. i am trying to do something really different and somehow i hope you reading this can look past how i am incorporating myself into this, and make yourself known. take this as seriously as you want to or ignore it. dont think im doing this as some serious artsy-fartsy thing; im trying not to be too weird. make this what you want it, if you want to.

thank you
have a nice day
